Two diaries, family correspondence, patriarchal blessings, family land deeds, Nauvoo Legion Certificate, and War of 1812 pension certificate.

Hosea Stout, one of the most prolific Mormon diarists, was born on September 18, 1810, in Mercer County, Kentucky. He attended a Shaker school from 1814-1818 before his family moved to Ohio and later Indiana. While living in Illinois in 1832 Stout heard the preaching of Charles C. Letter written by Hyrum Smith and signed for Joseph Smith from Nauvoo, Illinois, to Oliver Granger. Smith writes of a Mr. Devenport from New York who brought a judgement in favor of Boynton & Hyde, and urges Granger to pay the "just" debt. He also writes of the deaths of D.C. Smith and Robert B. Thompson from "quick consumption", mentions Brother Phelps and Hiram Kimball, and describes drought conditions. John Smith, son of Hyrum and Jerusha Barden Smith, was born 22 September 1832, in Kirtland, Ohio. His mother died when he was five, while his father was in Missouri. Miles Anderson (1795-1896) fought in the War of 1812 and enlisted in the Georgia Militia. He married Nancy Pace in 1821 and they had nine children. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1842 and emigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1851. He served a mission to Las Vegas with his son, William Rucker from 1856-1857.
